"Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Lucy in the sky with diamonds"
(Lennon, from the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", 1967)
the story goes that one day john lennon came to pick up his son julian from school and the boy showed him a drawing he did in class. julian said it was his friend lucy and he drew her in the sky with diamonds and thus inspired this lennon composition. however, paul mccartney's story in later years was that the claim that it was about LSD, the initials of which were those of the nouns in the song, was indeed true.

tried a number of pics but finally decided on this, after finally finding the 'space' texture in picnik. dangit! google changed, facebook changed, picnik changed. just when i'm getting the hang of it, they change.
@jannck sorry had to disturb you, i figured @danig was still sleeping.
sleeping!! ah yes well maybe I was, and I missed this altogether! sorry friend. cool abstracty-type of shot. oh, I have just got LSD (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)...DUH! i'm going back to bed....muddled and fuddled...
nice pic. Lennon expressed surprise at the idea that the song title was a hidden reference to LSD, saying "It was purely unconscious that it came out to be LSD. Until someone pointed it out, I never even thought of it. I mean, who would ever bother to look at initials of a title? It's not an acid song. The imagery was Julian's friend in a boat. in the sky" Julian's picture can be found at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lucy_In_The_Sky_With_Diamonds.jpg
