no, this is toronto and toronto is home to a gazillion seagulls. and ducks. and geese. and you cannot touch these suckers or you end up getting fined or worse, in jail.
i remember in the early 90's, one of the big name baseball players tested his pitching mettle and threw a stone at a seagull and killed it. the animal rights people were up in arms and he was fined big time.
it's winter so the only colour we get, when there are thick clouds, is grey. here at the breakwaters, the lake is like liquid silver. and you can see and feel it is cold. even the normally boisterous and obnoxious seagulls are all clumped in one place, waiting for food to come to them. i was so tempted to throw some crumbs into the air just to see what the little buggers would do. but my crumbs were actually rosemary wheat cookies so i was not about to give them up to these guys.
did you notice that the days are now noticeably getting longer? one and a half more months and it's going to be spring! ain't that great?
One thing seagulls are good for is comsuming garbage..and a day at the beach is not complete without hearing their cry. This is a nice shot..sure are lots of them.
Gorgeous shot . . love the silver tones of this along with the greys, browns, and blue tones. Beautiful, summerfield. Get fined?! Wow! Got myself into a little "warm" water today with my photo. What a day.
looks like gentle waves of birds to go wtih the gentle waves of water.
I have SPRING FEVER - big time! I can't wait! I missed spring/summer already end of October!
Great shot, love the big gathering of these rambunctious birds!!
This would be good for the sound theme because when I look at this I hear a gazillion seagulls!!!
i am behind on my comments, between mal's shoulder, him having the flu, finally getting out on sunday - watched logan yesterday. LOVE THIS SHOT but they look so cold! how unbelievable that baseball player would think he would get away with something so cruel and thoughtless. glad he was fined.
