splish-splash! by summerfield

splish-splash!

i was everywhere today notwithstanding the rain, scouting for places to photograph on days it's not raining. went to the lake to see what's happening in there (nothing interesting), then went uptown to look for frames with no success. went to the market for the cheese, ordered our Christmas centrepiece for the dining table. then there was a light flurry late in the afternoon but didn't develop into anything that resembled the snow. which was good because i was not in the mood to wear my winter boots yet.

even the ducklings were out in the water. these guys were really noisy and they don't ever stop! then i just coughed a bit and they all got spooked and scrambled to fly away.

i got an inquiry to do a family portrait. and am i expensive? haha! i said i leave this portraiture stuff to professionals. seriously, i haven't thought about making money with this photography thing. partner is excited though when i told him. and already he has a lot of plans. i told him good because i don't. tee-hee!
Crazy ducks! Don't they realize how cold it is?

@slang - crazy ducks, indeed! thank you, sean harry.

@tanja_1211 - thank you, tanja. i was a little bit fast on the shutter this time so got my lucky shot.

@bkbinthecity - the rain is only intermittent. it was worse two or three weeks ago. thank you, brian.

@netkonnexion - thank you, damon.

@alia_801 - thank you, alia.

@jackie8 - i do have my portrait lens but i'm not really confident on taking human pics yet. if i do it, i probably will do it for free, just to have a practice and would probably do a thousand shots just to make sure there's two or three good pics. hehehe! thank you, jackie.

lol Vikki- this is very much like the Mourning Doves I find gathered around the empty bird feeder pole each morning when I bring out the feeder. They sit there, watching me come out the door, walk across the deck, go down the stairs and act as if it's no big deal. The minute my foot touches the ground they fly away as if I'm running after them with a machete! I love all the movement in this shot- though unplanned, a great capture!

those poor ducks... hope they didn't get caught on the lake overnight or they would have hypothermia for sure! @slang
