this is a replica of the carrack 'grande hermine'. it has sat in the jordan harbour near the niagara peninsula for many years. it was bought by a businessman intending to operate it as a restaurant. however he did not have enough funds to realize that dream so the boat sat here unused. in 2003 it was destroyed by a mysterious fire.
every time partner and i drive by this portion of the highway, i would always see the top of the masts and i've always wanted to see it up close. today we have accidentally stumbled upon the road that leads to this wreckage. obviously, it's a nice surprise - a Christmas gift, if you will.
Nice shot! Too bad about the "mysterious fire". He should have passed the dream on rather than destroy any chance of it ever happening. Oh well, makes for a nice shot for you!
