The Norfolk Hawker by susiemc

The Norfolk Hawker

Chatacterised by the big green eyes and the triangular mark on it's abdomen.

The Norfolk Hawker is restricted to the fens and grazing marshes that are relatively isolated from polluted water in the Broadlands of Norfolk and Northeast Suffolk.

The main threats to this species come from the conversion of grazing marsh to arable farming, inappropriate ditch management, nutrient enrichment, pollution, the impact of global climate change and fluctuations in water levels.
Same old story unfortunately.

Best on black.
how exciting to see this and get such a great image! we are such a dangerous species :(

Attractive insect. I imagine the green eyes and stick coloured body help to keep it hard to see in the vegetation.
