Zen

This photo was taken in December at the Malott Japanese Garden in the Chicago Botanic Garden (which isn't actually in Chicago, but in a suburb north of the city). I am still experimenting with processing. I used a detail extractor process with Nik Color Efex tool with Aperture. It's so peaceful and this processing turned it into the look of a painting -- something I wish I were able to create. I like the symmetry of the reflection which is amazingly clear in the original photograph as well.
Wow! Beautiful!

I love this - it's surreal. We visited Japan last year at cherry blossom time - it was amazing and this brings it all back.

@busylady Oh, I'm so glad! I love when a photo works alone, but especially when it is a prompt to memories.

@dauber Thank you for the fav and the kind comment!
@vankrey Michael, maybe this is a place for meeting up at some point -- I know there are about 5 of us that have mentioned this (you, Junko, me, Daniel, Anwan).

@photodude Scott, such high praise -- many many thanks!

@danitech @olivetreeann - funny you should mention the HDR side of it. I actually bought the suite for the HDR originally, but find the other effects are more interesting. I have to learn more about the HDR one as it's not working for me at the moment.
