The allium has been so much fun to watch over the past few days. I noticed it when I was photographing the "mentors" shot earlier this week, when it was still enveloped in the filmy cover. I thought it looked 'photo worthy' today and tried to position it so the second one looked like a dreamy reflection. Last year, only one bloomed, but this year there are five buds like this one -- exciting!
I love allium - it's so fun to see them emerge. Lovely capture - and I think the other one not in focus is perfect - just like a shadow of the one in the foreground. Nice focus.
HI TaffyR, this is beautiful! I've looked through your stunning photos and apart from your gorgeous dog, there seems to be no-other animal life. Stunning buildings and flowers but not wildlife. I'm assuming that you live in a built up area looking at the pictures, but either way, my challenge to you is to capture some native wildlife. Hope you enjoy the challenge and it is in fact, a challenge! Looking forward to mine!
Gorgeous shot! Love the softness and the second one which almost appears to be a reflection. FAV! So, I see you took this with the nikon 105mm macro. Are you happy with it? Did you use a tripod here? Reviews mention it to be quite heavy. How do you feel about that? I'm always peppering you with questions... I hope you don't mind! :)
@pflaume I am always up for talking about lenses and other equipment! I love my macro lens. It's the first one beyond the kit lens that I bought and I've used it for the past probably 3 years off and on. Since joining 365, I've used it a lot. It is heavier than my other lenses, but I most often use it handheld and it hasn't been a problem. I can't use it at really slow shutter speeds, but as long as it's at about 50 or higher, I"m fine. When using at a wide aperture, I love the DOF you get. It's also great for portraits, though I usually use an 85 mm for those. The 105 is a great lens!
I really like these flowers at this stage. Building up the courage to burst forth. A beautiful softness to the colours and great to have the second one blurred in the background. Absolutely at fav from me.
@stevieinwonderland@darylo@jerwinkie Thank you all so much! And Daryl, I'm monitoring it closely with a plan to post when it blooms. Last year, it was just about to be perfect and someone came by and lopped the flower off! Hoping that was a one time thing.
Thank you so much for viewing, commenting, and a few fav's too. I really appreciate this so much!
Thank you for your kind comments! And Daniel for the congrats. It was exciting to see it there.
