It was that kind of a day. The sky was blue. The air was crisp and clear. I planted and weeded in the morning. Then decided to take a photo walk on Bonners Landing (the area we are in). I stopped at a neighbors to see if their daisy field was in bloom yet, but it was way too early. Instead, I saw these rocks piled on a wooden table and they were so pretty in the sunlight. The background includes a few green evergreens and beyond that the blues are the shallow and deep parts of the lake and the sky. I'm starting to get into the rhythm of the island. Mmmmm....nice way to live, even if it is just a break from 'real life.' Ended the walk at a friend/neighbor's house where she picked some lilacs from her beautiful bush for me to take home and gave me a little surprise in the lilacs that served as my extras/challenges album upload ( http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-06-03).
@pflaume Thanks Lisa for the kind word and for the fav! I do love stones and there are tons (literally) on our beach (rocky more than sandy).
@eyesmile Thanks Gena -- I think stone collecting is so much fun to do. Especially with a rocky beach -- a never ending supply of them. And thanks for the fav!
terrific shot Taffy, I really like the stones n the foreground and the colours in them, they are so well set off with the greenery and the blue in the background.
Very surrealistic. Love how the background makes the rocks gleam and almost look 3D. Also enjoy your journaling. I hope that you are keeping these notes elsewhere. Will make a lovely country journal.
Such wonderful light you captured. I'm a real sucker for rocks as are my kids. When we sold our house last year I had boxes and boxes of rocks so I brought them to the cottage and dumped them in a flower bed. I also have jars around filled with them. Just can't walk on a Michigan beach without collecting them.
I love the composition. The variation of the colors is striking. I wonder how it might look with less sun to bring out the rick colors of the rock even more? It certainly brings out the brightness of the day!

Thank you so much for your support, comments, and fav's. I value your comments so much! @pam1 Pam -- I wish I were a journal keeping sort of writer. I'm using 365 as a way to do that this year, and you can see, I'm pretty sporadic. I wish I did more of it and have that as a goal for this summer. @barbsmith We do have amazing rocky beaches, don't we? I love rock hunting but then never know what to do with them. I've built all kinds of flower bed borders over the year -- then watch them slowly disappear into the sand! @vankrey I think you're right -- I don't know how to reduce light in one part of the photo and not the whole thing -- that was the problem with this image as the lower part with the rocks is still very bright, to me. I like it, but would have made it a little less stark if I could have.
@tara11@olivetreeann@colie@pum71 Thank you so much Ann, Tara, Colie (how was graduation and the party?) and Muriel! And Muriel, a special thanks for the fav! We haven't had a such a blue sky since the day I took this shot so I'm really glad I posted it! I return to it now and then and sigh.
