Real life has intruded into my Beaver Island idyll with a day of conference calls, then company, so I had very little time to do anything with 365 today. The only good thing is that the columbine are starting to bloom. Such complex flowers, structurally -- I think they are so interesting looking. They are among the handful whose names I know and that I recognize in others' gardens. Even in the harsh conditions here, I have 4 plants that are going to bloom this season. So what little time I had, I focused on getting a clear image of one of them. Then after our company left, I've played a bit with processing to try to make the structure 'pop' without losing a sense of their colors.
Thank you all for your wonderful comments and fav's over the past few days!
@timandelke Thanks so much for such an enthusiastic response Elke! I really appreciate it and agree -- it is better viewed large, given all the details in the structure.
@taffy I kinda agree with you. Their petals shape is so unique. Even when the petals has gone it still leaves a beautiful shape in their branches. I am very impressed by this flower.
@olivetreeann@colie@pum71 Thanks os much for viewing my photo and commenting. I love this flower and am trying to take another image that shows the little bed that seeded itself this year.
I am so glad that I've planted this beautiful flower in my garden and they've been flowering since May!
