I love the overexposed images I've seen posted recently and wanted to try this with the columbine. This is the same plant -- but different flower -- that I've used on June 5th ( http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-06-05) and yesterday for my get pushed challenge ( http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-06-12). I made about 4 versions from one slightly darker than this one to one quite a bit lighter. I thought of doing a collage, but the differences are so subtle, I'm not sure they would show up given the size and resolution on the site.
I took photos today but after a round of golf (9 holes only), a major gardening effort, this afternoon, then stacking wood that Jim and a friend had split, and staying up til 2:00 a.m. last night to watch the Blackhawks win in triple overtime for the Stanley Cup first game (hockey), I'm going to comment and go to sleep! I'll use one of today's photos tomorrow. Yawn...
Thank you all for such wonderful comments and favs on the sandhill cranes triptych -- because of those, it was on PP today!
I had never heard of high key a couple of months ago but I really like this type of photography and can see why it is so popular. I think you have created a really good high key shot here.
Love this, great high key shot. I never used to shoot/process high key but I find myself doing it more and more. Something about the image disappearing into white which I love.
@olivetreeann I had the same experience. I would have discarded these in the past, much less tried on purpose to create one. The examples others have done have really influenced me.
I do like this. I, too, have been noticing the overexposed images on 365 and liking them. Who would have ever thought we would intentionally overexpose?
Thanks Kim, Svanna, Edie, Lisa, and Ana! I'm glad you thought I got the high key right!
