First I want to thank you all for your comments that took my shot of the grocery trolleys/carts to PP today. An exciting thing to wake up to!
Today I was in meetings -- an all day one on campus, then catching the L to the Art Institute (a very nice place for a meeting) and then a walk downtown to the school district headquarters for the last meeting of the day. Ending at dark, across the street from this sculpture which we passed on the way to catch the L home. So a day full of meetings, but also filled with very brief but very productive photos ops in between. Still deciding on the bw one for bw-bookclub. This photo shows the Calder sculpture -- Chicago is known for its street sculpture by well known artists and this one is my favorite. The city was glowing tonight.

This is wonderful! I remember that Calder sculpture! You know, this would be really cool in B&W with just the sculpture in red....maybe for the Flash-o-red challenge?! ;-)
@panthora Good idea! I'm really a novice at selective color as I don't use LR or PS. So it's do-able but pretty tedious in Aperture. Do you have any program you've found that works well for selective color?
@taffy Not sure....I have both PS and Lightroom, but have not really delved into either one much... I thought I had seen something similar here where the person said they had edited it in PicMonkey, but I have not been able to find the selective coloring option there....might need to play with it more. Check out the suggestions here in this discussion, if you have not seen it already: http://365project.org/discuss/critique/21004/photo-editing-programs. I would be very interested in figuring out how to do that in fairly easy way.
Wonderful shot, what an interesting piece of artwork. I particularly like the light reflections on the ground - they really set toe sculpture off. Fav.
