I needed some inspiration and checked out the word for the day: winter olympics/sports. I could take a photo of the TV...boring; I could go act out an olympic sport in the snow-filled park...too cold; I could do a still life of my ski goggles/gloves/hat/socks...even more boring than TV shot. Then I remember a lonely skier who has been skiing on my self since I was a grad student. I was sure he'd be in good shape after a 30 year rest! He was most excited to hit the slopes for me to work on my stop action shots. Danbo cheered him on but is out of view in this scene. What can I say...it's Friday night after a long week but I didn't want to use a filler shot (even though those I have are clearly better than this one!).
My "real" shot for the day -- but it's bw so had to go in my extras album: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2014-02-07
And my 'real' shot is where I thanked you all for your wonderful support in getting Icicles in the Sunset selected for Top Twenty this week. WOW! It felt great!
This is such fun, and perfect for the word of the day! You've entered the spirit of the Olympics appropriately . . . and given a nod to the concept of Fridays being some kind of flashback day, right? Great angle on the skiier . .. how did he do with Danbo's cheering?
Oh what fun this shot is Taffy. You have such a wonderful eye and imagination. I am just watching bits of the opening ceremony and can't wait to see some winter sports. I am not sure how much will be on TV here.
@taffy - Thanks a bunch for the link Taffy, I made sure to bookmark it! This is going to help out a lot on those days where I can't figure out what to shoot ;)
Is he made out of a spark plug and washers? Fun little guy! Boy do I know that feeling. It's mid-winter, my arthritis is really bad in my hands this week and even with the book club challenge, I'm just in sort of a dry spot. And now it's snowing again! Oh joy! Fun shot.
@olivetreeann Yes, Anne -- good spotting! These are fun little sculptures and I've seen them for every imaginable career, sport, etc. Hang in there. We finally had sun -- it made everyone perk up after all the gray!
