I was working on this photo a few weeks ago, before the fire, and finally got back to it. This was taken at the Adelaide Library, at @silver_fox 's suggestion, when I was in Australia in October. I photographed the overall interior here - http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-11-04 - then went upstairs where we found these wonderful carrels filled with books, and beautiful tables. All open to the public so we could have sat there and enjoyed the quiet (but there were more photographs to take).
I'm back posting this to Nov 5th so it's in the right place, but for those of you who find your way to this today (the 22nd) or later, thank you for your wonderful comments and the favs for my shot of the city skyline looking east last night (from inside the condo of course). Well, I finally braved the balcony tonight and will post the result soon!
Beautiful library.....looks so inviting.....and, interestingly enough, so staged!! Those books are so neatly displayed, and the colors so coordinated, and fit so perfectly into those slots!! I feel the need for a few books randomly open and displayed on the table!!
A fantastic shot and editing of this beautiful library of books and the gorgeous table -- love how you have achieved the combination of the two primary colours and how the odd red book pops at you in a sea of blue ! Stunning study Taffy and a big FAV for me !
That table and chairs reminds me of Cambridge University Library - a wonderful place with all sorts of nooks and crannies. Great colours too, and the image has a really warm feel about it.
I'm glad there is no one sittin in the chairs, as looking at the image the immediate question is where are the people, then you start looking around the image.
