Wondering About Google's New Headquarters Location?
Posted for fun for the "six word story 21," theme. In case you were wondering where Google is building a new headquarters -- viewed looking northwest from our windows. The bright light in front is the Morgan Street station for the Pink and Green lines on the Elevated ("the L") and the tallest building and surround is the new Google site, not yet completed but when it is, should help with the area's revitalization.
exciting. i like the new and i like the old. i scouted the area this past fall with the developers rep. looking for commercial locations for shoots. There are so many beautiful old buildings but are hard to remodel because of new building codes. and the imbedded mold in some of the old factories. augh....not a healthy thing to breath and not suitable for day long photo shoots.
@mwbc How fun to have been scouting, though! Sounds like an interesting part of your professional life -- and the buildings (maybe with a breathing mask on) would be so wonderful to get to see.
@ericdibosco It is our western view, but slightly northwest. If we look straight west, it is much more angular and few high rise buildings beyond the few across the street. The good news is that my tripods were not on the (partial) unsalvageable list and they were not on the list of 'we cannot yet return these items' so there is some hope that they will be in with the things we asked to have delivered early -- I'll know Monday morning.
@skstein Thanks Sandy. It really is! I realize I've barely done any b&w kinds of work that I like doing as it's mesmerizing to decide each day which view/building/landmark/traffic pattern to try to capture!
I would never leave your new apartment Taffy!! So much to see and it will be changing all the time with the weather and the light. There had to be a silver lining!!
THe lights just go on forever! No hills or mountains to break up the view. My son Michael we to school in Iowa for 2 years. WHen he brought his then girl friend home to see beautiful Oregon she said "It is pretty here, but I feel so confined...with all the hills and mountains." She was out of her comfort zone.
