There is No Place Like Home

Another one for six word story...for Thanksgiving...and for fun to get back to some b&w. This is the temporary condo we are living in -- our unit is just one floor below where that horizontal outcrop is up on the roofline. You can see the (terrifying) balconies on two sides and hopefully the feeling of height. Just behind the tree is the green building from one of my night shots a few days ago.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
If you have time, check out Thanksgiving greetings from P3 in the Toys Group album, as he posts on Thursdays: http://365project.org/365toygroup/365/2014-11-27
You must have quite a view! Happy Thanksgiving

November 27th, 2014
Crikey - hope there is a lift!
November 27th, 2014
Wow, that's really high, a fantastic view from there, though!!
November 27th, 2014
Makes me dizzy looking up! I an fullyunderstand why you not keen to go out on the balcony!
November 27th, 2014
Excellent pov, too high for me :)
November 27th, 2014
Good one. I have a fondness for "up shots" with a wide angle lens.
November 27th, 2014
Beautiful lines and angles.
November 27th, 2014
Lovely pov and the lovely b&w shot.
November 27th, 2014
Making me feel wobbly..... The b and e gives this such a different feel to the one I get from seeing your colour shots.
November 27th, 2014
love the black & white
November 27th, 2014
Neat pov, composition in the b&w shot
November 27th, 2014
Happy Thanksgiving! That does actually look quite scary.
November 27th, 2014
Wow, that's a long way up. I hope you are making progress on your balcony adventures. And Happy Thanksgiving 🍗
November 27th, 2014
Wonderful capture! Kudos to you for stepping out on the balcony as often as you have?
November 28th, 2014
Great PoV, it looks so grey with the b/w but I bet you get amazing views.
November 28th, 2014
Very cool pov, hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
November 28th, 2014
Great pov and love the b&w Taffy.
Happy Thanksgiving.
November 28th, 2014
Great POV! Love it in B&W! Happy Thanksgiving, Taffy!
November 28th, 2014
GReat B&W here Taffy. Just don't jump!
November 28th, 2014
Hope you are as settled in as you can be, Taffy, and I hope it's not too long before you are back in your own home! I know Thanksgiving is a very big occasion in the US, so I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
November 28th, 2014
Wowzer, no wonder you get such great skyline shots, you're almost at the clouds! Happy Thanksgiving
November 28th, 2014
Awesome shot
November 28th, 2014
Wow!!! Great shot of this high rise apartment building with the "terrifying" balconies!!! Love it in black & white!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!! FAV!!!
November 28th, 2014
Great to see your temporary living quarters from this perspective - great perspective, shot and conversion by the way. Terrifying balconies? Why, they even have railings! :) Only joking: I have lots of sympathy with your fear of heights, but I think you are managing it very well!
November 28th, 2014
@ericdibosco But the balconies are not very large and the railings have clear glass so you can see really far down as soon as you step out! And it's cold and windy. Maybe if we are still here in spring? But I just realized I may be able to have access to the rooftop deck, even though it is closed for the season, and the window in my study opens to the west and has no screen in it. All good things!
November 28th, 2014
Oh my gosh, living there must be a real hardship Taffy. What a great temporary home for you. Love the shot, gives a great sense of perspective and space.
November 28th, 2014
@taffy :) Keep pushing yourself, but not beyond your own comfort zone!
November 28th, 2014
Incredible architectural picture and perspective.
November 28th, 2014
A terrific pov, making the building look tall and imposing. Happy Thanksgiving!
November 28th, 2014
Nice patterns in the b/w
November 28th, 2014
What a fantastic temporary home. Such a wonderful view from your balcony too. Must be a bit scary when it is windy stepping out there though.
November 28th, 2014
Well, this definitely gives us clue as to why it's an act of bravery to step out on your balcony — you're waaaay off the ground up there! The b&w presentation combined with that moody sky adds an intimidating feel to this image.
Thank you for your compliment on my Candlelit picture the other day. Really appreciate that, and the holiday wishes as well. Hope yours was blessed in many ways.
November 28th, 2014
WHOA....great pov and that is quite high for someone who does not like heights. Your views from there are incredible ...and know you will enjoy that ...perhaps from the safety of the inside of the condo more then the outside. Lovely place, but know it will be nice to get back to your "real" home.
November 28th, 2014
Beautiful in b&w! Love the angle! Those balconies are pretty scary though!
November 28th, 2014
Super b+w
November 28th, 2014
I love the lines in this and POV. Hope you had a great thanksgiving
November 28th, 2014
I like the design of this building and the tree gives it a sense of scale.
November 28th, 2014
You live in a beautiful window. Great capture of it. Enjoy your time up there :)
November 28th, 2014
Happy thanksgiving to you Taffy, few months to wait before going back to the normal, courage ;)
November 28th, 2014
Great perspective in this shot! You definitely have a bird's eye view from way up there! Enjoy your high perch.
November 28th, 2014
Makes my knees go weak looking up yet alone going out on your balcony and looking down!! Great shot Taffy - really makes the most of the height of the building with your pov!! I know you will be very happy here in your temporary home!!
November 28th, 2014
I keep waving as I travel the highway through the city knowing you watch traffic whizzing by. My trip tomorrow (Sat) will be by train so I'll have to wave, instead, as I trundle by on the trolley. Hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
November 29th, 2014
@voiceprintz Someday you will need to stop for a photo walk!
November 29th, 2014
Great up shot!
November 29th, 2014
That is high!! I can see why you would get vertigo!! Enjoy your time up high....
November 29th, 2014
Fabulous pov! not sure I would like those balconies! :)
November 29th, 2014
Great shot but I wouldn't like to live there even on a temporary basis like you have to. I'm catching up so hope you had a good thanksgiving
November 29th, 2014
Love your six word story, such a fitting time being Thanksgiving and also your current situation.
November 29th, 2014
Guess you're more comfortable looking up than down.
November 30th, 2014
You've captured the building well -- you convey how tall it is, yet you also show more realistically how it looks than it might have turned out if you had made the shot dramatic in perspective. Nice balance! And great building.
November 30th, 2014
Wow, you are really high up. No wonder you have such incredible views. The caption is also a great six word story.
November 30th, 2014
Great shot of your new home for now, Taffy. Love it in B&W. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
