No need to comment...documentation shot that I forgot to upload several days ago.
The front 'garden' in our Chicago house was overrun with weeds, taller than my friend who is standing there. She and especially her husband are amazing gardeners who not only can separate weeds from plants, but know lots about the plants and what they need. We visited the house to see progress and when they saw the front, they jumped in to clean it up for us. What wonderful friends! This was taken when they had almost finished and everything looked presentable again. Within a few days, the Rose of Sharon on the far left had started blooming to celebrate. I'm sure that before, it had been too embarrassed to be seen there to want to produce a flower!
@busylady Thanks Judith, but we're not back yet. It wasn't ready (shocker), so everything is now in storage and we've moved back up to the island while we wait for them to finish. Our friends were helping as our garden had become an eye-sore and we didn't want our neighbors to think we'd totally abandoned it!
What fabulous friends, they are a Godsend. Our friends rallied around after my daughter died two years ago and while we were away in Victoria they mowed the lawns, weeded the garden, checked out the mail and generally kept an eye on everything. Where would we be without true friends.
@onewing Those are really good friends. I can't even begin to think of what we are dealing with compared to your loss. That is a real tragedy and ours is a massive inconvenience -- huge difference in my book -- but good friends who come through in any circumstances are a real treasure! The friend pictured and I started teaching together in our first university positions in 1980 and we've all been friends since then.
