We've Had Some Good Times Here

Rose with the Eyes hung out today looking out the window. It was going to be her last day with us as she's had a good run. She gazed out at the view on this rather gloomy, rainy day and thought it fit the occasion. She looked at the balcony that had once seemed impossibly scary and now is only a little scary. Then the packers were done -- all the rental furniture and supplies were gone. The only thing left was an aerobed and cleaning supplies. The time had come...
But I couldn't do it...she's wrapped in bubble wrap and if she makes it, she will spend the next 4 weeks or so on Beaver Island. That's what happens when you put eyes on a rose!
Ah . . . she looks so sad. I'm really sorry I couldn't spend more time at that fabulous place.

So glad Rose made it to Beaver Island, she's a very special girl from your time in the sky.

...or when you give a rose a name! You've had a good time and amazing images from here, conquered some fears as well...time to embrace the new chapter!

The blurred background creates the feeling that it's time to move on! Best of luck as you re-enter your refurbished home and begin again.

She looks so sad, but glad she is going on the next bit of the journey with you.

Awesome! Fabulous fun shot love the focus on the rose and blurred background. I have some roses like that in my lounge perhaps I should put eyes on them...... Such a great idea

Ha ha - I just love your commentary! Super image too.

You must be excited to get your own apartment back but I can understand you feel a bit sad to leave this Place behind
July 17th, 2015
Oh, Taffy, she looks so sad.....I am glad you were not able to leave her behind.....not with those sad eyes!! She deserves a much better fate than that! Enjoy your time at Beaver Island, and hopefully your move back to your home is a smooth one!

So pleased Rose will be bubble wrapped to join you on your journey :)

Rose looks so sad. Her expression matches the weather beautifully and you've captured the atmosphere perfectly. Rose will brighten up soon, now that she knows she's coming with you. Best wishes for your move.

Cool commentary, Taffy, and a great cityscape capture. So it's back to Beaver Island for some time. Looking forward for some wonderful photos.

This puts a smile on my face :)

Cute!

Oh, this is so very me...I was actually beginning to worry as I read about Rose's fate. (Love the last line of the narrative) Thanks for a really nice start to my day. And the focus and dof are wonderful - a big fav for me.

Awesome shot

@linnypinny It was so ridiculous...she's actually been in the trash about 3 times, and each time I take her back out. But this one...I can't believe I'm taking her up to the island!! Jim will really do an eye roll when he sees her up there!
July 17th, 2015
@taffy LOL. I can really relate!
July 17th, 2015
Hilarious and poignant at the same time! :)

Great view
July 17th, 2015
Very beautiful picture.
July 17th, 2015
She's looking rather melancholic. There are some things that are just so difficult to just toss out. I hope she survives the journey to the island.
July 17th, 2015
Beautiful image
July 17th, 2015
She looks very sad 😔, hope she survives her trip
July 17th, 2015
No way could I leave her behind either.
July 17th, 2015
What a lovely photo .... sad but not if she makes it to Beaver Island :)
July 17th, 2015
What a sad goodbye! If Rose makes it to Beaver Island then what does she then get a chance to follow you back to the city?
July 17th, 2015
Fantastic picture.
July 17th, 2015
You made me smile. Hope Rose accompanies you successfully to and from Beaver Island
July 17th, 2015
She is a survivor!Hope to see her soon!
July 17th, 2015
@janiskay Haha! If she survives another month, it makes it even harder to kill her off! I'll have to see...she's made it a long time without the eyes falling off. With her looking at me from the trash bin, it's hard to just walk away!
July 17th, 2015
Hopefully she makes it wherever you end up
July 17th, 2015
I'm sure you will miss that place a little. You did get some great shots from there. I do hope Rose survives the trip.
July 18th, 2015
Funny rose with eyes!
July 18th, 2015
Awesome dof!
July 18th, 2015
Adorable shot and story! It'll be wonderful to be back home!
July 18th, 2015
wonderful! I like the eyes - very clever!
July 18th, 2015
And just think she could really live at Beaver Island forever since she is now a dried flower. I vote for a long and happy life in the cabin!
July 18th, 2015
@olivetreeann brilliant idea! Thanks!
July 18th, 2015
@taffy Any time!!
July 18th, 2015
Let's hope she survives the trip.
July 18th, 2015
@taffy ;-)
July 18th, 2015
Lovely capture!
July 18th, 2015
Amazing how eyes gives something a soul, a personality, feelings, and thus creates a friend. Can't leave a friend behind in the trashcan! Neat shot, sweet sentiments.
July 18th, 2015
@lyndemc You're right about the eyes...I had a lemon once that I felt terrible about slicing apart! And it was all because of the eyes. At least when I put them on a broken egg...it was already broken! Thanks for the visit/comment!
July 18th, 2015
Love it, you should've been a story-teller.
July 19th, 2015
Lovely commentary Taffy creating such a sad feel to the shot which seems to express your feeling at this time! Hope the rose makes it to Beaver Island - I think that would be a wonderful place for her to stay. Enjoy your time on the island and hopefully when you come back next time you will be able to move back home properly with no more headaches! Take care!
July 19th, 2015
Aaaw, glad Rose is going to Beaver Island with you. Perhaps you will not have to make the decision about where she goes after that, perhaps she will simply fall apart and return to nature of her own accord. Great window shot too!
July 19th, 2015
This is so cute! I don't blame you for taking Rose along with you and I'm sure she appreciates it too :)
