Into the Abyss

Niagara Falls from a completely different perspective. Standing at the Niagara River as it is about to tip over the falls, watching a large flock of gulls swooping about -- and this one looking like it was peeking down into the chasm below. I also liked the ice on the dead log. This one is much better on black as that brings out the depth and the mist for some reason. Many thanks on your kind words on the other two Falls shots. Still a few more to post. It's been fun catching up on and off today -- still more to view as well!

The lighting is really awesome when viewed against black - that mist really shows up so well and love the light on the gull. What an interesting view of the falls. Quite taken with this b&w.

Holy cow, I thought (at first) that this was the splashing tail of a whale. Love the water, as it falls over the edge, especially with the gull. The light on the water is just great. What a super POV. Love this place. :)

Great shot! I was fascinated by the gulls the last time I was there- just wasn't quite sure how to photograph what I saw. I'm with many of the others- thought it looked like he was about to land on a whale's tail!

Awesome capture ,such amazing shots probably worth the cold weather. I'm more of a warm weather girl photographer so miss out on such awesome and amazing captures perhaps I should get to love the cold weather too :-)
