Welcome Visitors! by taffy

Welcome Visitors!

Great fun taking our UK visitors to Chicago's butterfly house -- always a useful place to go on a gray and misty day. And butterflies cooperated pretty well - posing nicely for our visitors and landing on their backpacks and fingers.
Pretty! I saw some of these at a butterfly exhibit in New York last month. They seem to move a little slower than the ones I encounter outdoors.

Awesome close-up! Did you put two butterflies together here? I don't remember the Buck-eyes having iridescent blue tops.

@olivetreeann Thanks! All the same butterfly. It's not a buck-eye but I can't remember the name of it.

@taffy Wow- I think I've seen that pattern below- but I don't remember it having that color top. It's a great shot.

( @olivetreeann Blue Morpho, or something like that. Similar looking to the Owl's Eye, but it has more circles and "eyes") Nicely done, Taffy, that you captured both essences of the butterfly...and that isn't easily done! ...in SD, these were more plentiful and landed on everyone...not so, here...
