Thank you for your visits and responses to my Beaver Island lake scenes. This was tonight which looked promising and now the rain is falling sideways. Poor plants...suspect some won't survive.
So big it really does look like the sea!! Beautiful colours in the sea and sky!! Hope the rain didn't last too long. We have a heatwave here - far too hot for me!! It won't last long as I expect storms will come in later in the week. It's summer!! LOL!! Fav!
I thought at first you had superimposed the plants, they looked so out of place, but then I understood that it is the sea that is out of place. Must be quite wild. Lovely atmosphere and colours.
@helenhall Thanks, Helen. Yes, the plants are left over from when the lack was so low for the past several years (maybe 5 or 6). With the 4 foot rise, the waves have basically torn out the marsh area mostly with a few trees and shrubs left. It's been fascinating to watch. The lake is looking 'normal' to us as we've been coming here over 20 years, but those who have only come in the past 5 think the lake is oddly high. So interesting to see the different reactions.
The tree really does look like it's getting tossed about. And I really like how you've captured the movement. The colors are almost a contrast- soothing and soft against the apparent wind and resulting waves.
Beautiful pastels, which contrast interestingly with the drama and movement of the coming storm. I like the double exposure effect, created by the wind-blown baby tree.
