Yet another from my walk with @rosiekerr -- this building was built and named for the Wrigley family of Wrigley gum fame and, for those who have heard of the Chicago Cubs, the same family for whom Wrigley Field is named.
Love the pink topped building and all of the lights! This walk was so fun - such a "target-rich" environment. It is delightful to walk it again, through images. :)
That clock tower reminds me of the original BBC Broadcasting House in London next to All Souls, Langham Place. The design is so similar. Lovely colours.
@skipt07 Wrigley's fortune did come from gum, though the patriarch had done other investments as well. He set up Catalina Island as a preserve, bought the Cubs, etc.
Do you know if the Wrigleys made their fortune strictly on chewing gum?
