The cheetahs, of all the cats, have such wonderful facial markings. I was rewarded here when this one turned back for a final look as he was leaving the shade of the tree.
Record cold here, but staying inside with plenty of photos to process, books to read, movies and TV to binge watch. Nice and toasty inside. Quiet in the city as museums, theaters, and even the university has closed today and tomorrow.

Great shot of a beautiful animal. How wonderful to have seen these creatures in the wild. We're getting a fair bit of coverage here of your Big Freeze and the polar vortex. That degree of cold sounds appalling, and definitely life-threatening if one did anything at all silly. So, stay inside safe and warm until that system retreats or weakens.
