Sort of what I'm feeling about photographing. Good thing there is a theme this month for half-and-half shots as nothing much is motivating to take new images. And good that I have so many shots between the safari and spring break trip that I can focus on processing at least. Here's an exterior wall typical of Charleston's historic district. Brick was once considered too low class for the elite, so they covered it in stucco. Now it's considered historical and an important part of preservation, so this look is quite common throughout the historic district.
Ha ha! Gotta love the tie-in with the title. Somehow I think that we'll see you come through with your usual amazing creativity. Hey, we all hit lulls, right? What do they say, what doesn't bore you makes you a stronger photographer?
I fully get the motivational problem - it's been great to have FoR, Rainbow, 30 shots and now Mayhalf to keep me posting in my themes album - I have been spending other time sorting through my trains hahaha and I am so slow with that
I like the contrast of the bricks and stucco. The old and the new. My Grandmother’s favorite expression was “bricks is bricks.” Never knew the exact meaning but I use it to say “it is what it is.”
Great contrast in textures. Married to a retired builder - often found looking at brickwork. Also fully understand the title. There are just some times.... then there are others. The others will return.
Taffy I am feeling exactly the same as you and finding it difficult to get some inspiration for photography!! I am doing the half and half for the first time to keep me going!! Maybe we need to get our group going again and see if we can find some new techniques to try and challenge ourselves?
Wonderful half and half with the subtle colors and wonderful textures and the non rule follower on the right. I totally agree with what you said to Pam...I’m tired of shooting around here...no new ideas to keep my juices flowing
I know after I’ve gone on a photo adventure and taken lots of photos and then com home to grey and more grey, the photo funk feels almost hopeless to ever end
With all your amazing adventures over the last year, I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit off. Seeing and photographing so many unique and beautiful places must make home feel a bit mundane. But your cityscapes prove you can see otherwise. This time of year can be challenging too because just when you think the gray is over- it rains again! The textures on this are really nice and I like the fact that it's not a perfect division between the red bricks and cement blocks. Good shot!
