Last year at this time, I became entranced (or as my husband put it, obsessed) with photographing sandhill cranes. This summer is no different. Even on a rainy day, they are enchanting.

Apples. Huh. Never thought a bird ate apples in large sized pieces, although I've had them ruin them for eating by pecking at them while still on the tree. Nice capture of this knobby kneed avian.
