This is one teeny little spider -- about 1/4 to 1/2" long. Captured using my macro, lit by the setting sun. This was cropped, and a little bit of sharpening around the face, but otherwise is SOOC (so not really since I did stuff to it). That huge red and white sac was almost the same size as the rest of the body, so I'm wondering if it's a female with an egg sac - the jury is still out on what that is but one theory is it's her abdomen. I liked its expression and the way it looked like it was shrugging at me photographing it.

Wow, incredibly sharp macro, with some wonderful detail! I don't really like spiders when I see them, but I'm truly fascinated when I see macros like this one... they really are magnificent!
@danielwsc Have done my search...other than the web that she left, she's disappeared. Wonder what happened to her and her baby spiders to be (but not sad they won't be sneaking into our house!)
That's no egg-sac. I'm thinking just the abdomen. I'd need more pics to confirm. There are some dimples there that look like markings. Not 100% either-way.
@bobfoto Really? Ooops!! I was guessing as I rarely get this close to spiders! Thanks for the correction. I'll see if I can correct it in the other thread. Clearly, my area of study isn't science!!
@taffy - I don't think it's a big deal... the more I look at it, with that red colouring and those dimples, I don't know if a spider would design a egg sac in such a way...
