@julieco is my get-pushed-93 partner and asked that I submit an animal collage in the theme of the MFPIAC challenge. Unfortunately, I missed that challenge's deadline, but still made it for the get-pushed one. I was excited to create the collage and had planned this all week, using photographs from a trip we took with @jyokota and her husband a few years ago, before Project 365. We've often talked about how much we wish we'd known then what we know now. I did apply some processing skills to the original shots -- unfortunately almost all taken in .jpg rather that RAW. This collection reflects animals on three different islands within the Galapagos. It's a photographer's paradise -- the animals have almost no natural enemies and are unafraid of people so it is almost surreally idyllic. A trip of a lifetime! Thank you Julie for letting me revisit it! The pair of birds, btw, is a mating pair of blue footed boobies -- we watched for about 20 minutes as they danced around one another.
@julieco Just under the wire, here is my photo for get-pushed this week. I loved planning it, made several versions of it, and loved the time I spent pouring over the hundreds of photos from the trip. These, in the end, were my favorites.
Awesome collage, Galapagos is right at the top of my bucket list but not sure whether I'll ever make it. This is a wonderful series of photos - what an experience for you...fav
A dream vacation we have high on our bucket list! It's somewhat comforting to see you weren't even shooting RAW as recently as this, though your photos of the animals are wonderful! Perhaps I'll be better prepared than I would be today by the time we have the opportunity to see this for ourselves! Your photos make me want to be there (soon!)
You captured so many wonderful shots Taffy. That's another place on my bucket list. I want to know the secret of getting a bird in flight in focus, I just can't seem to do it! Thanks for sharing this, it's quite inspirational.
My favourite, if I had to choose one, is the seals having a cuddle, how cute!
