Not the music group, but a pair of adult eagles that have been hanging around McCauley's Point on just north of Bonners Landing on Beaver Island. After a photo walk with Vickey (for those keeping track, the only potential disaster was as we got our cameras out for the first photo of this great fungi, I heard, "Oh no, x*%^, I forgot my battery." So instead of the trail we'd planned on, we drove to Vickey's house on the east side, got her battery and took photos of some really cool dragonflies that are totally different than ones on the west side of the island (see main and overflow album for the two types). After the walk, and driving me back to the west side, we decided to check out the beach -- and the eagles cooperated nicely.
Great shots.
BTW was Vickie the one that last year you had quite a story about car trouble and etc. I am thinking if it was that the two of you are a bit jinxed.
@morrisphotos Yes, that story was from this past May. The one last summer was getting lost on the dirt road when trying to find a big field, only to realize quite a bit later and having to back out for what felt like forever, that there is a road on the map called "Big Field Road" that we had passed before turning on the wrong one. We decided today our jinxes are improving and becoming less dangerous and simply annoying -- and that is definitely an improvement! Thanks for the visit and comments.
Wow how lucky are you to have this flight display put on for you! I am so jealous as I have never seen an eagle in the wild and would just love to see one. Beautiful collage showing the action! Huge Fav!
Wonderful collage, and I like the story too. Sometimes when things go wrong it can work out for best as today's shots show. I intended to ask on your dragonfly shot 'do you use a tripod for these macro shots?' I only ask because I don't have one and when I'm concentrating on a shot and it looks great in my viewfinder - I press and capture usually only the bottom half of what I thought I was getting so mi'm obviously moving the camera but not enough to blur
I've enjoyed all three of the photos posted today. The dragonfly narratives are a delight! :) Absolutely CANNOT go wrong with pics of eagles. These are outstanding!
