Hooked

Exploring Beaver Island's harbor with Junko @jyokota this week, during early evening as we waited for the super moon that never appeared. This is by the Ruby Dee, a large rusted ship in dry dock just off the main harbor. Lots of opportunities for finding unusual things - like the mysteriously hanging rusted hook in this image, or all kinds of other shipping and fishing supplies and tools.
Junko's shot of this same hook, with a very different image in mind, can be found at: http://365project.org/jyokota/omake/2014-08-10
I love how strong and dramatic your image is, whereas mine is so much brighter and part of the bigger scenery. Isn't it fun to take photo walks together and then see how similarly and how differently we've captured the same images?

Dark and rusty! So different from Junko's shot. I do love that on a photo walk how you can come up with such different shots of the same thing!

Wonderful rusty hook, and that chain is fabulous.....I also love all the wispy cobwebs that almost disappear into the darkness....and, the different perspectives on the same subject that you and Junko offer!
