This is the 'back side' (east) of the art institute. I had the b&w fortnight theme in mind and was taken by all the variation on reflections in this single scene. I was going to use it as well for the 50mm sooc challenge but after converting to b&w, it needed a little dodging, burning, and repair to reduce some of the busy-ness in the image. I took out a reflecting power line.
When you left Beaver Island, I thought I would miss those wonderful photographs, but now I am falling in love with the big city. I love that you take a few minutes to explain because I am trying to store up some of these ideas of ways to fix things. Thank you. The double reflections in this is just unbelievable.
@joansmor Thanks Joan! Last summer (2013) I was so depressed leaving the island and "being stuck" taking photos in the city. Then, I hit a turning point one afternoon at Buckingham Fountain and had to ask myself what I'd been thinking to complain of being minutes away from amazing structures, the lakefront, trains, etc. And I now realize I'm so lucky to have months in both rural and urban settings. I appreciate your comment so much as I've felt the same way!
Brilliant pov. did not realize it was a waterfall of sorts, only the reflection gave it away
