Main Street? No, My Street! by taffy

Main Street? No, My Street!

Yes, I was actually stuck in 'traffic' as this duck waddled up Main Street. Clearly, I'm not in Chicago where this poor duck would not stand a chance. Here, she apparently owns the road.
For Street-7 challenge, ending this afternoon here in the midwest US and Technique-42 (negative space) ending tomorrow evening.

Update 7/29/16: In the top 6 finalists for Technique-42!
That's funny! We get the same thing here with all our geese!

Your choice of very high contrast B&W has turned out to be an inspired one as it allows us to focus on the essential elements of this story - excellent, Taffy.

Super shot and love the processing. Same here with ducks they have right of way too. There is even a "ducks crossing" sign at Salamander Bay.
July 27th, 2015
Interesting capture and creative processing.
July 27th, 2015
Ha! Great capture! Not sure a duck would stop traffic here on the So. Cal freeways.
July 27th, 2015
Hehe, love the way the duck owns the road. Now that is country living!
July 27th, 2015
@creampuff Duck lived to tell the tale of taking over the road...she really wasn't bothered in the least by the fact that she had 2 cars lined up behind her. Note that 2 on the island's main street would constitute 'traffic'...
July 27th, 2015
@vignouse Thanks Richard...I did try various b&w 'looks' but I knew somehow I needed the duck to pop more than the cars, texture of the road, etc. so this ended up being the 'right' choice, I hope.
July 27th, 2015
This duck rules! I really like the way your processing helps this powerful duck pop. I am very glad to learn that she lived to tell the tale.
July 27th, 2015
