I don't know how I did this, but I deleted this by mistake, along with the 12 comments that people made. My apologies to those who commented -- I still have the emails and am trying to reconstruct. So please ignore the tags that I think this will send to you. Know I appreciate each and every comment and don't want to lose them!
Original note (uploaded from phone while at hockey game tonight so who knows what I did when):
Blah blah ... on a plane...west to east coast...clouds under lit by Chicago lights, other is high desert in western area...blah blah...center photo is for my mentor group bokeh theme...
Now to repost comments...so frustrated! But thanks for your patience!

“Lovely shots. I really like the one top right of the clouds.” @888Rachel
Thanks Rachel! My next try is either going to be shaped bokeh or holiday lights somewhere (we don't have them at home, but neighbors and all across the city does, so something should work out!).

“Wow!Amazing collection of images!” @my_photofun
Thanks, Darinka! I'm enjoying your city shots! Did you like Nutcracker? We took our granddaughter last year or the year before.

“We made the trip back on the red eye so I saw . . . . darkness. Your scenes were dramatic!” @jyokota
Can you believe I deleted the comments and photo? No idea how! Never using iPhone again for posting!

“Oh, a planescape! :) You have been logging some miles, that's for sure. Nice to have a window seat. ” @rosiekerr
Thanks Rosie -- I loved your night shot of parliament! Wow! Yes, a lot of miles squeezed in at the end of the year. And the only reason I had a window is that Jim really wanted the aisle, but it was a lucky thing given the scenes below.

“Super collage, I love these beautiful views. The surreal Chicago clouds lit from below are amazing!” @kerosene
Thank you so much! The surreal Chicago one was my favorite -- I've never seen clouds like those before. I think it was a layer of relatively thin, uneven ones and low enough to reflect all the light.

“From sea to shining... city. Glad you got a window seat on your flight back home.” @lyndemc
Thanks Denise! I almost never want a window seat as I'm a white knuckle flyer who doesn't look out. But this was a lucky break as Jim really wanted the aisle seat and I grudgingly agreed.

Rachel, sorry for re-tagging you, but I didn't want to leave you out of the list!
Here is another bokeh idea I had in the central shot -- purposefully trying to create round circles of the light that didn't convey movement of the plane. It worked technically, but wasn't interesting enough to post alone and I liked the surreal clouds better...thus ended up doing the collage of the range of what I saw out of the window. Next step...bokeh shapes or bokeh from lights while I am on the ground and stationary!
The collage is terrific Taffy, it really captures the sense of distance and space of the landscape. The bokeh is pretty darned good too, especially considering where you took the shot from!
This is a great collage and I can understand your frustration at deleting comments made. How cool that you managed to re-write them though! Super images - especially that central one, full of bokeh, and the orangey clouds.
Wonderful collage Taffy! What a shame you deleted but we'll done on reconstructing the comments! This central bokeh shot is great and not something anyone else can try at the moment! Lol! A beautiful blurry look at the city lights! Love the other fab views - lucky Jim wanted the aisle seat! My favourite is the cloud over the city - gorgeous image! Fav!
“Beautiful grouping of images! I guess you did get the clean window after all!”
