Catkins

After a few days of strong winds and heavy rain showers, the area around our big silver birch is now covered in these catkins. I think they look beautiful, but I really need to go out there and clean them away before they block drains etc.

They look like mealworms! We have the same problem with our neighbours tree dropping catkins in the gutters and blocking them.
