This arresting (I hope) image of Blackeyed Susan blooms is another from my friend Lilliane's lovely garden.
Can I apologise in advance that I will not be able to comment over the next few days but I will try to post. I awoke this morning to find that two large oak trees had fallen during the night blocking our lane and bringing down the 200 metres of telephone cable leading to our house. We therefore have no telephone or Internet at the moment; I am sending this from my mobile 'phone but as I live in the sticks my mobile data connection is very slow. Thank you for your understanding - normal service will be resumed shortly!
Hope all that it took out was the phone lines and that everyone was safe. Have really enjoyed your flowers. We have to soak them all in before they disappear for the winter.
And oh by the way I have been trying to capture this same image but the flowers just weren't as abundant for the look I wanted. She must be an amazing gardener.
@dide@joansmor@ceilidh Hello ladies - thank you for your comments and concern. No, no damage other than the 'phone lines and an almighty mess - it took me an hour with my chainsaw to clear an exit-way from our house... and the owner of the trees, whose responsibility it is to clear away the mess, appears to be on holiday!
@ceilidh It happened at 2am Margaret - I was commenting on here when my internet connection dropped. When I checked the phome line it was absolutely silent, not a trace of background hiss, so I guessed that the line had been cut somewhere... it wasn't until 9am that I discovered the problem was close to home. I'm surprised I didn't hear any noise as we're talking about two trees of around 15 metres tall which, in falling, also cracked off large branches of adjacent rowan trees.
Black-eyed Susans make me smile... And this image is full of smiles. Sorry to hear about your trees but glad to hear no other damage. I hope you are reconnected soon.
Your picture was an attention getter, and your narrative made me smile. I hope your communication woes are resolved in a non stressful and rapid manner.
Hi Richard. I'm your get pushed partner this week and I'm looking through your pics. Check out this coincidence...I posted almost the same picture on the same day (but on Instagram.) http://instagram.com/p/sDSot6iLb8/?modal=true
