OCOLOY Day 97: Cider Barrels... by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 97: Cider Barrels...

... empty this year, unfortunately! These barrels are in a friend's barn where we garage our Motor Home in the winter months. There is no electricity supply in the barn so I pop over every couple of weeks with my petrol generator to give the batteries a top-up. Today, these now disused barrels caught my eye.

Worth a look on black.

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Simple yet effective composition. Timeless!

I like the shapes, lines and composition in this neat shot.

As others have already said the lines and the curves come together very well.

The textures and shapes are terrific and, as you said, looks marvellous on black.

Lines and circles - and lovely textures - great photo

I'm also caught by the lines and circles; and I like the soft-feeling light coming in ... from outside, maybe.

There is a timelessness to this - it might be a picture from the depression era.

Oh, very nice. Love it!

I like the combination of circles and lines.

Tones, textures and especially the corrugated iron sheeting make an interesting composition. On black...of course!

Even with a web/video resolution, this shot has a full, complex range of grey tones. I love how the textures (iron wall and earth flooring) contribute to the composition. Great work!

I have drunk a bit of cider over the last few weeks in NZ so I love these cider barrels....proper cider!

I can only agree with @domenicododaro - the range of grey tones and texture is overwhelming. Great shot!

Wonderful scene. I'd love to have some of those barrels!

I like the five and the tones are great

These lines and curves make for a very pleasing capture.

This translates beautifully in b/w...the dynamic range is so strong and the textures mixed with the lines and circles very interesting to look at.
