This is my favourite large scale sculpture and it sits besides the N24 express-way from Rennes to Lorient at Ploërmel. The fallen warrior is in full armour and carrying his battled scarred sword; all that can be seen of him is his helmeted head and left shoulder and part of his sword... the earth has claimed the rest. The tip of his helmet is about 3 metres high and the tip of his sword about 6 metres high. The best view is from the other direction but tonight I was looking directly into the setting sun and the resulting image wasn't going to make it without some processing help.
This rear view with the sun directly behind me is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile. View on black if you can.
This sculpture really is quite something. With its broiling sky, this shot is most apposite to the heroic Fallen Warrior, and for me commemorating all those fallen in the defence of others.
I think it's great that you find something new to present every day and limit yourself in how you do it, another great scene , reminds us that we were not the first people here and wont be the last...
A massive fav!
