OCOLOY Day 142: Marie-Paule and Pierre tie the knot.
Our friends Marie-Paule and Pierre got married today. Both have been widowed a long time and they have been 'an item' for the last seven years. Marie-Paule is 69 and Pierre is 83 but today they looked like spring chickens... here they are in Paimpont Abbey making their vows in the presence of their witnesses.
As usual, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
A great pleasure to be included for this occasion and at this location which means much to both of us. Given that there has been an Abbey here since 1199, she scrubs well for such events, be they grand or simple.
Awww how sweet, I wish them many more years of happiness. It is so nice to see that people are still interested in marriage! My mother has been a widow for 20 years and I was hoping she would find another soul mate.
Lovely shot Richard!
645ad van you imagine all the couples that have stood on the same spot? Hope they have a long and happy union. I don't know if you saw The Indian couple who had a baby recently, the mother was in her 60's..
Love ..... always love your shot makes you a discreet witness the exchange of vows, as if you had the eye that approves and goes . I do not know if you understand what I mean, my English is poor ...
Wishing them all the best! I shot a wedding three weeks ago myself. Not 83, but 70ish couple. They both looked wonderful. Great capture of a truly lovely church and wedding party.
@trinda Thanks Trinda for all your comments. The photographer for this wedding was the gentleman second from left with the glasses... I grabbed this from the pews as a personal memento and for my OCOLOY- SOOC photo... I would be petrified at the thought of being the official photographer at a wedding!
Great to capture such a special moment. Love the idea that love is not confined to the young. Dave and I married in our early 60s. My first husband had died down the neck of a bottle. It was Dave's first marriage!
