This is the canal tow-path alongside the canalised River Vilaine close to the town centre of Rennes. I was admiring the ripple patterns created by the sunlight reflected from the canal onto the underside of the road flyover when this cyclist passed me and created the extra element I had been looking for to lift this photo out of the ordinary.
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
IMHO this excellent shot is RS classic. At first glance I saw the cyclist riding under the bridge and reflections, trees in the background. But, Hey, there's a lot more to it than that!
Upward reflections tell me that beyond this bridge there is sunshine, rule of thirds, contrast of straight lines imposed by man cheek by jowl with Nature's Summer sylvan display...and how much the construction of this flyover lends itself to be photographed.
the reflections in the water are beautiful , imagine a secret staircase to the bottom of the water, the image goes to the essential, it tells a story. A game of shadows and lines that give it life. FAV
Great capture. Love the pattern of lights reflecting up off the water onto the bridge. And what would we do without cyclists arriving into our shots at the right time! :)

Bravo!
