This image was captured at Peatmoor Lake just at the bottom of the road where we used to live in the town of Swindon in the UK before moving to France 15 years ago. The pagoda, on a little island in the lake, echoes the traditional style of a Chinese restaurant built at the side of the lake some 20 years ago. The heron was perched on the wall of the lake overflow sluice about 5 metres away from where Mrs S and I were standing and didn't seem at all bothered as we took photos for 5 minutes or more. Mrs S has a close-up of it here: http://365project.org/s4sayer/365/2016-11-01
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
@graemestevens Thank you kind Sir... as for the Magic Roundabout - went through there a couple of times yesterday and it's working as effectively as ever. I can promise you that when the junction was controlled by traffic lights, it was a complete and utter nightmare. The secret is simple: keep left on the mini-roundabouts but take the most direct route to your desired exit from the complex. Think yourself lucky that you didn't encounter the sister roundabout at Hemel Hempstead which is one huge roundabout surrounded by seven smaller ones - you keep left on the smaller ones but can take whatever direction you like around the the large one!!
@vignouse Ha ha, I've done the Hemel Hempstead one as well! I went up there for a job interview on my first week in the UK...it came as something of a shock!
That reflected delicate tree in the centre is the pivot about which the whole is balanced. Its such a pleasing, restful composition, Richard, from that arc in the foreground to the balanced stands of trees, the sky balancing the water and, of course, the heron balancing the pagoda.. Fab! but is it Art or Physics? :-) Fav
..and you lived to tell the tale!
