OCOLOY Day 342: Étang de Chatenay at Sunset

This is the lake that used to feed the Moulin de Chatenay and is now part of the Biological Research Station at Beauvais, itself an outstation of the University of Rennes.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

It would be a pity not to view this on black...
Oooh, so serene - stunning on black

Calm, flimsy clouds, true reflections...and all those sentinel trees are magnificent.

Impressive that you manage to pull it of, with the strongest light source dead center.

Stunning. FAV

I love the shape of trees in the winter; and here they are twice.

Beautiful with its reflections

Lovely high contrast and reflectrion

I like the gentle curve created by the trees on the right. Seems to add a bit of texture.

Stunning like all of your work. I am enjoying the B&W shots. FAV

It would indeed have been a pity not to ... so I did. A lovely image! Great reflections and so sharp.

@runner365 Thanks Claes - I slightly under-exposed the sky so that the sun would not burn out too badly leaving the rest of the scene to render as a silhouette, which is what I wanted.
December 8th, 2016
Sometimes B&W is the only way. Good work, as usual.
December 8th, 2016
Love this b&w image...especially the reflected sky

The water and reflections make this shot for me.

nice

Fantastic reflections and sun rays.
December 8th, 2016
I can feel those sun rays!
December 9th, 2016
Beautiful again!

I prefer this one, probably because of the heavier contrast and the reflections. I don't agree with you about it looking better on black though. So a fav for sure, but only on white!
December 10th, 2016
This is wonderful. Love the reflections and the contrast
December 11th, 2016
Love the clarity of the reflection here, wonderful capture!
