OCOLOY Day 343: Étang de Chatenay bis

In French 'bis' means alternative - you often see it on road signs indicating an alternative route - here it's an alternative view of the lake that I posted a picture of yesterday. Yesterday was a clear day with bright sunshine, today was cloudy and overcast so the feel is completely different. This was taken looking in the same direction as yesterday's shot but from a viewpoint farther down the lake.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Usual viewing advice applies ;-))
What a mysterious looking swamp (or wetlands). The way you've captured with softer tones is really effective.

I like both images, but this one more.

Quite different moods as you've said. For me, this seems sad...but hey, do I know about the work of the Biological Station? I imagine it's ram jam with interesting plant nad animal life. I think you've captured and implied its hidden depths well.

Isn't wonderful how the quality of light, even in a bw, speaks to you about time of day and weather.

Tom
Wonderful tones in this captsure

This feels very sad and lonely. Yesterday's was very uplifting.

Neat shot that is awaiting a story

Soft and sloggy feel here. I like both views. Yesterday's is warmer feeling but this one has a slow contemplative feel.

I like the detail of this one - it's easy to imagine yourself there

@taffy @s4sayer @joansmor @joysabin It's interesting; when I posted the sunset image I hesitated between that view and this one but decided to go with the sunset. For today's image I decided that I wanted to post this view so I went back to reshoot it so that it was taken in the right day... very OCD me! The first day's image was taken in that bright evening sunlight and is very contrasty: this one was taken on a dull overcast evening and has the very different feel you have all commented on.

I am looking for alligators!

Full range of shades here, Richard. Most appealing.

@vignouse I've just fav'd this. Having read your additional comment to Taffy et al I'd give another if I could for the OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Commitment)!

@jasperc How else could you complete a 365 SOOC Ocoloy in B&W exclusively?
December 9th, 2016
@vignouse I was thinking the OC in OCOLOY stood for "One Camera" but of course it's "Obsessive Compulsive One Love One Year"

@jasperc You're pushing it a bit my son...!
