Harlequin Invasion by yorkshirekiwi

Harlequin Invasion

These ladybirds are invasive, and new to our area. My friend was complaining about them to me this morning, as they were all over her laundry, and washing. I had only seen a couple in our house. Then I went down to the garden shed, and couldn't believe my eyes. There are hundreds of them in clumps all along the roof. The spiders are overwhelmed!
wow, quite a gang. Never seen so many in one place at a time.

awe :) if I had a invasion of a bug I would most defintly prefer these adorable little ladybugs, I have never heard them be called Ladybirds before. I swear I'm always learning something new with all my fellow 365'ers

We had a similar invasion a few years ago. It only lasted a few days because by then most of the ladybirds had died. I have no idea why it happened :)

Great shot! I saw something similar at the end of last summer here, I read that Harlequin ladybirds gather together to spend the winter inside buildings. You don't see other types of ladybirds because they stay somewhere sheltered in the garden.
