Fantail by yorkshirekiwi

Fantail

Known for its friendly ‘cheet cheet’ call and energetic flying antics, the aptly named fantail is one of the most common and widely distributed native birds on the New Zealand mainland. Common he may be, but it's very difficult to catch a photo of one with it's tail fanned out. Still trying
He is very well hidden isn't he. Well spotted.

Well spotted! His tail looks pretty well fanned out to me

Doing his best to hide, but that tail does give him away.

I said the same thing on @kiwinanna's post today. Fantails are so quick. Sadly the one in our garden seems to have disappeared - I hope he's just moved on to pastures new.

You've caught him so well - it must have been tricky in behind this vegetation!
