Magpie Moth by yorkshirekiwi

Magpie Moth

We have a new local business, called Pumphouse Blooms. They grow cut flowers and today had their first open day. Of course I had to go along. I was quite excited to see this butterfly. I had never seen one like this before. Research tells me, its actually a moth, but is mistaken for a butterfly as it's a daytime moth. I didn't know there was such a thing. Anyway here is an aptly named Magpie Moth
Sounds like a good new business to have near you. Nice capture.

Lovely detail on its feathery antennae.

The body looks a bit like a bee’s body. I’ve seen skipper butterflies that have similar wing markings.
