I was looking the other day at the list of names of those who have been following me on the Project over the years. I thought it might be fun to give a shout out to the person who is at the bottom of your list. Your first follower or first recorded follower. Then look through their album(s) and pick a photo they have uploaded recently and post it here along with their name. Sort of a flashback. Too bad there isn't a way to find out just how long ago they started following us.
To do this, place your mouse over, "Your Project" at the top of the screen next to the 365Project icon and a drop down window will open. Look down the list and click on "Followers". Scroll down to the very bottom of the list to find out who your first follower was.
The first followers i had were local photography club members, but i am the only one left regularly uploading after 3 and half years! funnily enough the first other person was @bulldog, but i never followed him and get comments from him only rarely so i never i knew!.
id o like a bird in flight shot, so here is one of his recent ones
(incidently You Skip are the nextmost oldest of my followers , who regularly posts still :) )
My first two followers have not posted since January so my oldest active follower is Frank Hymus @frankhymus . I like the simplicity of this recent shot:
I thought my first follower was @jyokota as we started together, but noticed she has randomly disappeared from my list! That happens sometimes. My first follower who I didn't know was Myrna @sailingmusic -- she was gracious enough to follow me back when we first started. I found her because we were using the same camera and loved her images of wildlife and ocean activities such as this one.
My first follower was Juletee @juletee. I still remember how excited, and encouraged I got when she started following me!
While Juletee doesn't post regularly, she still pops in once in a while, and did just pop in yesterday.
cool idea! my first follower was the lovely montez @monty147. we're both still posting regularly and enjoying each other's shots. this is her latest - another delight:
@maggiemae is my oldest follower (not literally I'm sure!). She was the first person to follow me who wasn't someone I already knew. I love this recent photo of hers of the snow on the hills in the South Island of NZ.
This was interesting to go back and look! My first follower was Tia/teejay14 but she hasn't posted since October 2014, so I decided to use my second follower who was April@aecasey who just posted this beauty: @aecasey
@roamingphotographer was my first follower. His most recent photo was posted on Aug. 29, 2015. Hopefully, he is still shooting and capturing beauties like this one.
@romeheather - Good idea! I tried the way you suggested and went back and looked at my first photo. It shows one comment in the counter, but there is no comment displayed. I assume that whoever that person was has closed their account along the way. I posted my first photo on January 2, 2012. I had to go to January 10th before there was a post showing and, as it turned out, it was the same person I mentioned at the start. I then looked in the list of people I follow and it is the same person.
My first active follower is Rob @johnston1364 We have quite a different style of photography. And it's been great to be on the same journey with him. He's always up for trying something new - this one made me smile :)
My first follower was Mike Hendren . @skip07 you were my second follower and you have been with me through all these years. Thanks so much for all your kind and encouraging words.
Barb Kilburn was my first follower. she started posting February 20 through to November 4th of the same year. with her last picture she informed us she wouldn't post for awhile but continue to take pictures.
Hazel @quietpurplehaze was my first follower, and we're both still going strong! Hazel was the first to welcome me to 365 and has been very encouraging over the past few years. Thank you, Hazel! Congratulations on entering your fifth year on 365! Here is a photo of her sweet pup, the inimitable Jinks!
Tom @dakotakid35 was my first follower and is still following me. In fact, I learned about this project through him and a few of his friends on a photo a day page on Facebook.
I could have sworn my first follower was Candace @ribbet9 but she seems to have gone from my list. I know she was one of the first to comment on my first shot and I was so excited to have anyone look at my photo. She's been commenting and encouraging me ever since and I've enjoyed seeing her world too. Loved the face on this wee guy.
Julie, many thanks for your kind words - it was a pleasure to welcome you. And thank you for posting Jinks. I'll try to make him understand that you called him a 'pup'. He should be flattered as in that shot he's now around 94 years old in doggie terms!!!
I'm still fairly new and only just come off the New Faces page so not sure if I qualify to be entering here but my first was @claycameras - though not so much of a commenter, sure sure is generous with her favs! Love her processing on this image:
My 'oldest' follower is now the lovely Louise @Weezilou. There were a few before that but they have finally dropped by the wayside! Wherever she is Louise has a menagerie of animal visitors. Here's a recent one -
I'm fairly new to 365 and my first follower who I haven't met is Jacqui @jqf and I've FAVed a number of her photos.
I think this is my favourite of all my FAVed photos too!
@Cherrill What a joy to be acknowledged by the likes of you "old friend", Cherrill! Joining 365 set me on a course of taking daily photos and it's now much like the story of "The Red Shoes" ! Ken and I just spent 4 days as two of the 3 photographers at Lunenburg's Folk Harbour Festival & I'm buried under about 4000 photos to go through this week! Just wanted you to know what we've been up to and that I have every expectation of jumping back in when I can clear the desk! Again, thanks for that happy, sweet moment! xo
Having been here since Jan of 2010, many early followers stopped posting or leaving comments. My steady friend who signed on early was Richard @chard, and I love his views of life in and around Grand Junction, Colorado
@cottiac Here's how you post a picture (yours or anyone else's) Under the photo on the page it's posted on, there is your title and description on the lift. Under THAT is a separate stripe with the date and some symbols to the right of the date click on the three little dots just to the right of the star. It will come up with code that you can copy and paste into here. And, by the way, you can edit something you post into one of these discussion threads -- as I am doing right now by adding this "by the way" bit (unlike comments you leave under someone's picture). So you can potentially just edit what you posted first to add the photo the way I describe. Cool, isn't it?
Like Taffy, I was surprised to see who my first follower was. I could have sworn it was Sue Barnicoat @suebarni (She's the first person to leave a comment on one of my photos.) but it turns out the bottom of the list was Dixie Goode @pandorasecho She's been posting such wonderful pictures of her granddaughter lately, that I assumed I'd share one of those. But when I went to her project, the one she posted today was so great I chose it instead. She's titled it "Flowering wishes" and added this:
"Most every dream I ever held dear enough to continue working to make it come true, was first inspired in the pages of a novel."
My oldest follower met me through a postcard exchange group called postcrossings, or rather didn't meet me, but got my address, read my profile, told me she was also married to a music teacher and loved photography and invited me to join in here. @mrssmith has closed that account after three years and opened another @mrssmith203 which also is inactive. I now talk to her on Facebook.
My first follower was @rosiekind. She introduced me to 365 when we were chatting at her work place where I was volunteering. We bumped into each other some time later and she was out with her camera seeking kingfishers. I signed up straight after that and she was a great encouragement to me. Rosie is an expert on bird photography and is still finding kingfishers - I wish I knew where she goes to see them ;)
@jackies365 Thank you for your sweet comment. I love that we gave become friends and look forward to us spending shoot time together once we are living in Michigan. Which by the way, we will be in your area next July.
Love your idea!
My first follower was Corinne @cocobella
id o like a bird in flight shot, so here is one of his recent ones
(incidently You Skip are the nextmost oldest of my followers , who regularly posts still :) )
My first follower, who still posts somewhat regularly, is @abhijit. Thanks!
He does really stunning work and following him has been a blessing in my creative journey.
While Juletee doesn't post regularly, she still pops in once in a while, and did just pop in yesterday.
My first follower was Mike Hendren .
@skip07 you were my second follower and you have been with me through all these years. Thanks so much for all your kind and encouraging words.

That's a beautiful shot.
Many of my followers left a while back, or post irregularly. My oldest follower who still posts regularly is @Glendq
Great that you are still around Diane ... we've been hanging out for a few years now! ;-)
I think this is my favourite of all my FAVed photos too!
