Hello everybody. For any newbies who started on 1 Jan, I post this topic every week at around the same time, and it's an opportunity to post your favourite photo from the previous week. So, what is your favourite photo from between 8-14 Jan?
You can post your favourite photo by copying and pasting the code from the 'Share' box that's in your photo page, together with info on when it was taken. Part of the challenge is only selecting ONE picture, so no cheating!
To start it off here's my favourite, taken on 12 Jan:
Hard to choose! I felt like I had a few good ones this week.
I'm choosing this one over the others because it's my beautiful daughter, and not a windshield or piece of ice. :)
I actually had a 'good' week - of course it's all a matter of perspective. :) Remembering how excited I was to see this shot when I downloaded the pics - I guess my favorite would be this one:
Ahh, tough decision! 14 days in and I'm pleased with every photo I've taken so far! It's only a matter of time before I have a bad week XD But for now... I think I've decided on this as my favourite, but I like the 9th and the 13th a lot too!
This started out as quick snapshot and ended up being a composition nightmare. I'm happy with what I settled on, and was impressed with the image when I saw it on the computer screen.
It has to be this one. Of all the shots I have uploaded during this project it has the most views, has been fav'd 11 times and has made it onto the popular page. Spectacular really for a quick snap while waiting at the bus stop with my iPhone and an incidental paser by!
I kinda like this one for several reasons... my tarantula cooperated and sat still long enough for a few different shots. I was able to create the lighting and depth that I wanted. And considering it was a horrible day at work that day... I'd say it turned out a bit more creative than even I expected. =P
It would have to be Lotso . . . Cade and I had so much putting together the "set" and taking the shots, and it has been a pleasantly surprising added bonus that others have liked it too! Thanks, all!
I over processed it, but the look on his face is just precious. It's not easy to get a boxer playing in snow with his tennis ball to hold still, even for a second! lol
Taken on 12.01.2011 - not only do I think Charlie is pretty cute, a few others do as well.
I'm pleased with the results of using the 50mm and Charlie's patience with me while testing it out.
Even though I had other photos with more favorites, views and comments... this was my personal favorite. It was the first time I have ever had myself as the subject. It was also the first time I called attention to my eyes... something I have been self-concious of since I was little. It was kind of liberating!! =)
I love this one although not the best. I love it because it is a tribute to a great artist Vik Muniz and the very special and dear project of art and recycling he did , two subjects that are very important in my in my life. Warmly recommend to see the film http://www.wastelandmovie.com/
This is mine. A one shot, no editing image taken whilst leaning on the rail of the ferry which was taking me from Sydney to Manly for my dinner, the leaning was to reduce the risk of shake in the twilight! Very scientific (!) I AM AN AMATEUR!!!! But quite pleased with the result!!
This one is my favorite for this week, because it was just an ordinairy saturday-afternoon and I was clearing up the Christmasdecorations and then I saw an opportunity for my shot of the day. No theme, no nature, just a picture.
Getting good photos of my daughter is very difficult, as she usually pulls faces!
I love this one! She's nicked her Dad's hat and wearing her spy glasses and thinks that she would blend in to the crowd.....
This is my first time posting--total newbie--but love to look at everyone else's awesome photos. This was taken Jan. 10 and I pass this building every day on my way to work.
There are just too many great photos here that I haven`t even seen before, and I wish I had the time to go comment on them..
Here`s mine. This photo suddenly became my "biggest hit",I didn`t really expected it to be.
This is my fave photo this week because it symbolises not only the emotion I was feeling on the day, but the progress I've made with my 365 adventure...... and that I can actually take photos to portray an emotion or a feeling...... day 1 I had no idea that was going to happen!
This one was by far my favorite one Ive done yet, not to mention the one that took the most work, had to take the 20 pics it took to make to my school and use one of the macs in our digital photo room because my lap top couldn't handle the 25mb raw files that the canon 7d takes and was really happy with the end result. But some of the pics here sort of blow my pic out of the water haha
This one although the first is spectacular for everything that went wrong that morning ... why this one then?
It was a few hours after this shoot the muse said they couldn't do the 'contracted' extra two days. I was in tears but I must say they were selfish tears. Thus I am forever in awe of muse's beauty, honesty and ...
@clarebear14 This is just so spectacular ... uber creative and awesome because I absolutely love and hate the character played by the late Heath Ledger. He did it so well - it was probably less acting and more real considering what happened next.
This is my favorite this week because I was impressed with how much can be done with the iPhone and the Hipsmatic app. No photoshop...nothing but experiment and shoot!
I have been learning a lot looking at other people's pictures and purposely setting up my own. There are definitely pictures everywhere you have just stop and look. Then once you have the one you want a good cropping will enhance it. My picture is one where judicious cropping has helped. Hopefully over the remaining 350 days I will steadily improve.
This was my favorite. I was taking different pictures of the glass full of corks and hadn't really even noticed what was on the corks themselves. I also liked the balance of the corks plus the designs of the glass. Funky!
Everyone has such amazing photos! I had a few that I really liked this week, but this seemed to be the favorite of my followers! (And I really like it too). :-) A semi overdone editing trick, but still fun. :-)
I have been a bit slack the last week and not getting around to snapping "good" photos. This is my favourite, mostly because it was taken at the end of a lovely meal at the beach with friends
I like this one and hate it... neither of which are for the photo itself...
The person jumping was trying to land this all day... so I was glad I was able to capture her tries
Editing it on the other hand... was a pain...
Wow I am a real newbie, I didn't even realise there was a section like this haha This is my favourite photo this past week, one that was my first water shot :)
Day 14: Splash
For a boy who doesn't really like baths, he really enjoyed spilling half the contents on the floor and me tonight!
These are all such lovely pictures. :)
This is my favorite for the 8 to the 14th, taken on the 10th. Or the 9th. One of the two haha. And I'm pretty sure it's my favorite photo I've taken for this project yet.
My fav from the 13th.... had to say goodbye to someone but at least I got a neat picture out of it, and it'll be cool looking back on it when I'm done with the 365 days :)
1/11/11 is a One-derful Day
Timing was everything for this shot as I waited for precisely 11:11:11 on the 1/11/11th to wish you all a very one-derful day!
Day 13... Pepper Sue...I love her sweet little face. I couldn't decide which picture I liked best, she didn't want to sit in the chair and jumped out the first time I put her there, thats why I'm holding her face, trying to soothe her..but she was a trooper...love this sweet baby girl
I like this picture as it shocked me that I captured such a peaceful picture when the beach was very busy. I was also slightly scared that the person was contemplating jumping into the water below!
Love the colors, this picture makes me feel happy, with such a crap start to 2011 it's natural beauty like this that reminds me the world really is a wonderful place.
This is my favorite, mostly for the technical aspects. The color is spot on, and the sharpness was great for handheld. The geometrics were great too, for the composition.
My lovely photogenic dog is always a good subject matter for me when i'm bored and want to photograph things as he does exactly what i want him to do:)
this one, it took a lot of time and effort to find it (i spied it from the motorway and took a detour!)
I didn't have a great week--too much work and too little time to play.
mine:
I'm choosing this one over the others because it's my beautiful daughter, and not a windshield or piece of ice. :)
I like this a lot.
It's my favorite only because my daughter is the model. I might have better shots, but this one is closest to my heart.
Love my drops :)
Very mysterious - gorgeous photo. Your wife is beautiful - but I guess you already know that. :)
It has to be this one. Of all the shots I have uploaded during this project it has the most views, has been fav'd 11 times and has made it onto the popular page. Spectacular really for a quick snap while waiting at the bus stop with my iPhone and an incidental paser by!
Just because it makes me laugh.
I like this one best because of the colours. It's been a dreary week and this was a much-needed splash of colour.
taken 1/10/2011
I love the vibrant colors of the sky in this sunrise shot. It was breathtaking!
I like this one cause I was surprised it turned out so well...it ALMOST looks like I did it on purpose! :D
This is probably my favourite though
Though I have shot with the crystal ball several times, this was my first in the winter. Overall I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!
I like how its sorta vintage") and it was a quick shot:D
Taken on January 10th - a shot out of necessity (nothing else inspired me!) that turned out pretty ok
this is my fav as it was so much fun and resulted in so much laughter from me & my sons :)
This is my favorite because it shows him in action:)
I love how the building and the sky reflect off the pond.
This is my favorite so far. Taken Jan. 13
I love this one! She's nicked her Dad's hat and wearing her spy glasses and thinks that she would blend in to the crowd.....
My favorite photo, and my favorite guy =)
Though, I had several that I really liked, I guess this one would be my favorite of the week.
This is my fave....so winter...
It's a simple shot but I like how it turned out.
well this was my favorite... can you tell how old i am by what i am doin when im not taking pictures?
i was very lucky to be able to get so close to this guy
Here`s mine. This photo suddenly became my "biggest hit",I didn`t really expected it to be.
This is my favourite but have loved this weeks moviescene theme!
I think this one was my favorite for the week. It was nearly SOOC.
It was a few hours after this shoot the muse said they couldn't do the 'contracted' extra two days. I was in tears but I must say they were selfish tears. Thus I am forever in awe of muse's beauty, honesty and ...
This is my favorite this week because I was impressed with how much can be done with the iPhone and the Hipsmatic app. No photoshop...nothing but experiment and shoot!
Definitely this one.
I think I'm gonna go with this one :)
taken on the 11th. Not sure why I like this as much as I do. I think it's because the rocks look vibrant or something
this one. i have a bit of an obsession with my record player.
The person jumping was trying to land this all day... so I was glad I was able to capture her tries
Editing it on the other hand... was a pain...
I just love this picture, it was a nice picture anyway but it is amazing what a little editing can do to silky material. Gorgeous.
I've been pressed for time this week - so there are not too many photos to choose from for me... I like this one though :)
first time to do light painting... ^__^
Day 14: Splash
For a boy who doesn't really like baths, he really enjoyed spilling half the contents on the floor and me tonight!
I just love the simple composition - took it onm the 8th and haven't like any since that day so it wins hands donw
Actually taken in Feb. 2009, but posted 1/13/11 on a day I just had no chance to take a picture. One of my favorite early photos when I got my camera.

@cortens @jenteal very sassy.

My picture from the 11th! It was a quick shot I took on the way to class and I love how it turned out.
A last-minute shot that turned out really well. (8 January)
This was taken at a lake in town on January 12, 2011
This is my favorite for the 8 to the 14th, taken on the 10th. Or the 9th. One of the two haha. And I'm pretty sure it's my favorite photo I've taken for this project yet.
I like the way you can barely see her profile peering out of her raincoat hood.
# Taken: 10th January 2011 11:23am

...Does it show up as a link, or as the photo? Sorry for the silly question, it's my first time posting a comment... ^_^
my take on the "the crazies" movie poster, for the theme (kinda). i didn't like it at first, but it kind of grew on me.
Love this one , because I haven't done landscape in a while :)
I love cemeteries...guess I'm creepy.
This is my first attempt at photographing a bee, chasing him wih my camera for ages!
Love the colors, this picture makes me feel happy, with such a crap start to 2011 it's natural beauty like this that reminds me the world really is a wonderful place.
It just makes me hungry and want my breakfast.
I love the serenity of the majestic mountain!
This one just makes me feel good!!
I just loved the look on the baby and the 'Kodak moment' of this photo.
my kid is super active -- even when he's sleeping!
and I like it because it was a "crap I haven't taken a picture yet today," that came out nicely.
I just love my Teddy Roosevelt... and I think this picture came out nicely. I haven't posted in a few days, though... I should get on that.
My lovely photogenic dog is always a good subject matter for me when i'm bored and want to photograph things as he does exactly what i want him to do:)
