I live on the downward , or upward - depends if you're travelling west or east, slope of a long but low hill. When I look south I see sea in two harbours, when I look north I see a patchwork of fields and villages.
I am sure that in a generation or two this view will be a new town, made up from the amalgamation of the villages. I wonder how easy it will be to do 30dayswild2117 when our fields are housing estates, our pollinators are diminished and climate change and pollution has pushed the farmers out.
Gorgeous view....same with our village..plans to build more houses...prices going up too...houses go so quick..lots new people we dont know...son would like get back here....but may not be able too
Every night I go home along the top of Portsdown Hill and look down over the same two harbours. Every night it's different, twinkly lights in winter and beautiful seascapes in summer. Sometimes it looks grey and uninviting, where the sea and the sky are the same colour and at others it looks almost Mediterranean with a turquoise sea and blue sky.
