Well what a photographic year. I completed 365 consecutive shots (only set out to do 30) and have continued my daily habit. I've helped set up a local camera club, undertaken an OU photography course (must finish the assignment before next week's cut off date!) and been given a new camera with gizmos. I've come around to the view that editing isn't cheating - but enhancing with style, I can even 'do' layers !
A few thanks now. @northy for the weekly get-pushed list- I've learnt so much from this and thanks to all my challengers she paired me with, I was shortlisted a few times and won once!
Ross for the weekly theme- I participated every week (shortlisted twice and also won once) @farmreporter for the monthly words, these give me so much inspiration and motivation, and I love it when she chooses my words!!.
Thank you to all of of you who have taken the time to look, comment and fav (or ace) over the year. Thanks also for the advice, guidance, answers and tips on how to copy some of you- far too many to name but I think you know who are in addition to Bill (bokeh), Mona (low key)and Annie (abstract).
What will 2018 bring? Well if I'm going to be in your area I'd like to look you up and get our cameras to meet up (Perth (WA), Greece, Norfolk (UK), and Toronto planned so far!).
I hope to continue with a daily photograph; and reduce the number I take to get the perfect one - 147 the record for this year I think.
This 365 lark becomes all consuming and I get quite cross when I can't get a picture of the day for whatever reason. Perth (WA), Greece, Norfolk (UK), and Toronto are definitely out but Portchester, Port Solent, Bognor Regis, Chichester and Brentwood are the most likely places to find me.
What a wonderful collage of your year! So glad I played a small part in your photographic journey! I must also thank you for your monthly contributions and participation in the words.
Really looking forward to your next 365 days of photos!
Nice that you have so many skills under your belt now...I'll have to ask you about some of these that are still on my photo 'to-do" list! Happy New Year, happy travels, happy shooting.
Wonderful collage Jackie you have done so much in your first year I enjoy following you and hearing what you have been doing. Enjoy your travels and Happy 2018 to you.
@will_wooderson thank you Will, I love the contrast between UK and Italy you convey!! @wendyfrost I have also become a bit of a camera bore though!! I love your narrtives with your pictures @linnypinny many thanks Lin! I relly enjoy your photos @granagringa i go onto Google, Digital Photgraphy School, ask people on here and copy what I see!! Trouble is.............. the easy looking ones just arent!!!!!!!! Your shots are always so personal and iterseting @wag864 many thanks Kas I've nejoyed dipping into your collection! @johnsutton thank you John, I love how you can find inspiration in anything to photograph andjust capture it!!! @megpicatilly a trip to Kent is also on my 2018 list- Canterbury anywhere near you??? I really enjoy your different styles of photography @suesouthwood will try to meet at that NT place with the lovely autumn trees?? Love your journey into editting and seeing how your skills are now so amazing!! @farmreporter Wendy, you actually played an enormous part- I was on holiday first time I won a get-pushed-challenge and you really helped me as I was out of wifi. You showed me the true spirit of 365 and I have tried to do the same to others in similar difficulties. @davemockford let's try and get a good, close up shot of 'our; crane this year then!!! @brennieb thanks so much Brennie, have't been home to East Anglia in ages (although I'm Suffolk rather than Norfolk!) @jqf I love your maritime photos Jacquie. Wonder if we'll pass port to port in The Solent this year??? @roachling Your 30 days wild challenge month was one of my best for learning new skills- will do it again this year!!! @joansmor hope you missed the bit about me not minding editting so much now!!!! I still use skills learnt on the light amateur links you set up!! @padlock any chance you'd be able to rustle up a kingfisher close enouth for my 200 zoom lens (and no tripod!)?? I love your (and Pixie's) bird photos (and the 'planes too) @salza Sally I adore your dogs and the fantastic landscapes you capture. Perhaps need to add SA to my travel list (perhaps for 2020!!) @365anne I (a little presumptiously!!) think of you as my 365 twin as we started so close together and have journeyed on similar, but different, photographic paths. We are often the first to comment on each others photos too!! Good luck with the faeries' garden looking forward to seeing it 'develop'!
Thank you all. Here's to a good 2018 for all on 365 and around out little planet
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Aww, that's lovely Jackie! I have just spent well over an hour trying to create a collage - all the online collage makers I have used in the past now require you to "sign up" and I dont want too!! Grrr. Which one did you use to create this collage?
Some awesome photos in this collage, Jackie. I'm flattered by your mentioning me.
I live a little over an hour east and a little south from Niagara Falls, which is about three hours from Toronto.
Maybe we could meet up when you go to Toronto.
@peterscherub2 I use the month of words for inspiration, copy good ones I see here and sometimes just pointed and clicked. Good luck and enjoy @bill_fe ooh, that would be lovely. Am hoping to get together with vikki s. A friend lives near the falls so going there definitely to pop in to see her (after 30 years since last meet!)
Happy New year
sometimes we go to Norfolk.. so you never know!
