An ancient, and very wise, Sister of St Dominic's Convent in Stone, Staffordshire gave us an informative tour of the library and church.
Their treasures include a portion of St Thomas More's hair shirt, Elgar's conducting baton and an enormous desk that belonged to Pope Pius. We didn't get shown the relic of St Catherine (not of the wheel fame) which is in the ornate church.
The desk is now used as a little altar on which is this Madonna and Child.
