I had an idea and took teh photograph before going to work. I then researched 'Ethical Diamonds' and it appears that Canada has a thriving ethical diamond industry ( however de Beers have muscled in on it!).
So what started as a campaign to promote awareness of blood diamonds evolved into an advert for ethical Canadian ones.
I don't have any diamonds. Maybe that is why I was not fully aware of these issues. Thanks to you, I have done a bit of reading. So --- looks like your advertisement has worked,.
i don't know about Canadian diamonds; i know Canadian jade is one of the best in the world! hmmm...but now, i will have to look at my diamonds and see if they're ethical. :-) aces on the advert, my lady!
@summerfield i like jade, will have to look for some in the autumn!! Thasnkjs foe aces!! @helenhall 365 is sooooo educational in so many ways!!! Thanks for looking and feedback @salza its an interesting tour through Goigle!!!
I didn't know about Canadian diamonds before. I did know about the ugly side of the trade and am glad to see that not all are so slimy. Very good and creative.
So very good for the advert day - and such an important issue. Interesting that you should say that De Beers have muscled in on the Canadian diamonds - they did exactly the same here. There are absolutely beautiful champagne, cognac, pink and yellow diamonds mined the Kimberley region. They used to be sold as Argyle Diamonds. That term never appears any more - they aren't recognized as Australian - they are DeBeers diamonds and under their control. Bit sad really.....
@robz hmmmm, big business eh? @ludwigsdiana new to me until i decided to make up an advert!!! @joysabin very kind, thank you. But i do love a diamond ( or 3!)
