The pools of yellow light do add contrast and texture to the image... even if their source has been banished from view. I wonder if you tried this in B&W - it's the sort of image that can work well in monochrome?

@vignouse Thank you Richrd, I did try it B&W but I liked the golden light on the cobbles and that arch.
@merrelyn It's the Happy Halloween that bugs me, it's not a happy occasion!! I blame Hallmark and thier marketting!!
